Herb Benefits
PAstragalus Root (Astragalus membranaceus)
Astragalus is a darling in western herbalism and Traditional Chinese medicine. It’s an adaptogen, so it protects the body from the impact of stress while having antiviral and antimicrobial properties. Astragalus is an immunomodulator, so it acts on the immune system for a more extended period and has a balancing rather than a stimulating effect on the body. As a tonic, astragalus can be taken regularly to bring the immune systems back into balance.
Orange Peel (Citrus sinensis)
In addition to its refreshing taste and Vitamin C, orange peels can lower levels of stress hormones. It more readily absorbs iron and boosts the immune system.
Elecampane Root (Inula helenium)
Used in Europe and Asia for thousands of years, elecampane activates the movement of thick, stuck substances in the lungs. Elecampane is widely used for bronchitis, asthma, and coughs with white phlegm, particularly when you need pain relief.
Wild Cherry Bark (Prunus serotina)
Wild cherry bark is often used in over-the-counter cough medicines because of its delicious flavor and relaxing, decongesting properties. It calms respiratory nerves and aids in digestion, while being slightly warming and relaxing.
Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale)
Ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory herb that helps with coughs and bronchitis, fevers, chills, colds, headaches, and digestive conditions. Ginger helps lower both cholesterol levels and blood pressure, and it settles the stomach.
Cinnamon Bark (Cinnamomum verum)
Cinnamomum verum or "true cinnamon" is lighter, sweeter, more brittle, and better suited for deserts. As a warming, stimulating, anti-viral, and anti-tussive herb, it combats the common cold and flu while suppressing coughs. It is also antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial.

Ages 5-7: 1 tablespoon of tea
Ages 8-11: 2 tablespoons of tea

Enjoy 2-3 servings daily for at least three days to achieve the full benefit.
Loose leaf herbs (such as this one) can be reused the same day. The flavor profile will change, but many people prefer their second or third brew! Add a little more of the herbs to each additional blend and see what happens!
Store herbs in airtight containers in cool, dark places.
Best when used within 2-3 years of opening. After three years, let your nose and eyes be your guide. Over time, more of the blend is needed to have the same effect.
